Students often struggle with multiple-choice tests. This doesnat have to be the case. Better performance is possible if you use these simple techniques:
- Arrive early so you are not in a panic!
- Wear comfortable clothes
- Bring a bottle of water (if you are allowed to!)
- Read the entire test before answering any questions so you know what the content is and you can be thinking through the questions as you work through the test
- Do the easy questions first to build your confidence
- Take all the time you are givena students tend to rush through tests as if it were a foot race a use the time to thoroughly read and respond to each question
- Do not go back and change answers unless you are absolutely positive that your second choice is correct -it is likely your first choice was the better answer and you are reducing your score by making the change
- If you have to guess, use the elimination technique a of 4 possible answers, 2 are likely not even close so eliminate them and focus on choosing between the remaining 2 answers a youave just improved your odds from 25% to 50%!
- Do not try to identify any pattern in the answers, for example, donat select answer “c” because the last three answers were “b”
- Look for a word or phrase that distinguishes one answer from another, words like a?alwaysa?, a?nevera?,a?includinga? or a?excludinga?
- Review the test before you hand it in a did you skip a question or select more than one answer to a question?
Try these techniques and see how much more confident you are both going into a test and coming out!A Good luck! Dipyridamole
