COVID-19 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We advise all students, faculty, staff and clients to take instruction that comes directly from CADH only and/or your immediate supervisor at CADH with regards to coronavirus-related updates. Although the media and fellow students can be a valuable source of information, unless communication is received directly from CADH, there is a risk of miscommunication. We encourage all students, CADH staff and clients to monitor updates at cadh.ca/coronavirus and/or email cvquestions@cadh.ca with specific questions.
Students will be provided with at least one week’s notice. The decision to reopen the campus and clinics will be dictated by Government guidance.

Yes. Not only will the delivery of all programs remain instructor-led, students (if they wish) will have the option to have more one-on-one with their instructors than a classroom learning environment would permit.

The end of semester final exam schedule was forwarded to Dental Hygiene students on March 19. If you haven’t received this update, please contact your faculty member.

Any changes to the schedule beyond April 5th will be communicated to you if and when required.

Yes. If there are any changes to this date, new and and current students will be notified. In the event that our physical campus does not re-open by April 20, CADH will deliver the program via online learning for a week or two until the campus re-opens.
April 6. The Dental Assisting program will be delivered via instructor-led online learning until we are able to re-open.
All programs are scheduled to end as per your original end date. If there are any changes to your program schedule, you will be notified.

We continue to monitor this situation very closely. We are taking direction and making final decisions based on information from multiple sources that include but are not limited the resources listed below. Unless otherwise indicated on cadh.ca/coronavirus, you can conclude that no decision as been made. As soon as decisions are made, students and faculty will receive an email and our coronavirus update site will be updated.

Public Health Agency of Canada

Government of Canada Travel Notices

World Health Organization

Peel Region Public Health

Toronto Public Health

Ontario Ministry of Health Information Sheets

College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario

Ministry of Colleges and Universities

As mentioned above, we continue to monitor the situation closely using multiple information resources. Unless you have been contacted directly by someone from CADH (or for staff, your direct report or higher), then no decision has been made yet. Know that we are working hard to provide as much future clarity as possible while not making rash decisions.
Please let them know that CADH is working very hard to continue to provide updates based on the information we have access to. All relevant updates can be accessed at www.cadh.ca/coronavirus. The main message for clients is to let them know that we appreciate their patience and that we will be in touch with them once a new schedule is in place.
Rest assured that given the exceptional circumstances that we’ve endured, we’ve been granted a high degree of flexibility by the Ministry meaning that clinic and class cancellations will be taken into consideration when evaluating competencies. As long as students continue to follow direction from faculty, your grades will not be impacted.
