WeA�wanted to share with you a quick true story from a Level 4 placement for Dentistry from the Heart.
Dentistry from the Heart is a charity in which a dental office can participate and for the day they offer basic cleanings, extractions, and fillings at no cost to the local community.
CADH students were there as support for this one particular dental office, but they quickly took on a stronger role and exceeded expectations of the placement. CADH students were helping with registration, BP readings, guiding patients, infection control, and brief oral health education. The office was taken aback at how the students were working together with their team and learned their office protocol.
As the day came to a close, the office surpassed their patient treatment goals by 10% and give full credit to CADH students for this. An owner of the clinic had pulledA�our staffA�aside to tellA�us that he was extremely impressed at how quickly the students took initiative and adapted to each situation. He then introducedA�us toA�the office manager and verbalized that he would like for any dental hygienist that they hire to be a CADH graduate. One student was even offered a position at this office after graduating.
WeA�share this story with you becauseA�we appreciate that the Level 4 CADH students came to this placement with positive enthusiasm and great work ethic and helped demonstrate the importance of applying their learned skills in a real-world setting with a positive attitude.
